The history of Klemm Bohrtechnik GmbH is characterised by new names, takeovers and simultaneous growth. Founded in 1963 under the name Klemm-Stahlhacke the drilling company Günter Klemm split off just one year later. In 1972 the drilling business was abandoned and the company was renamed G. Klemm Bohrtechnik. The successful company was taken over by the US group Ingersoll-Rand in 1989 and has been part of the Bauer Spezialtiefbau group since 1998.

As a pioneer, Klemm has made a decisive contribution to the development of anchor drilling technology over the past five decades, which is underlined by more than 100 patents and industrial property rights. Today, the mechanical engineering company is an internationally leading specialist in the construction of high-quality, high-performance drilling rigs with a total weight of up to 32 tonnes.

The current range includes 22 different models. Starting with the smallest KR 500-1 with 2.2 tons the KR 806-3GS is the fourth-largest model with an operating weight of 19.5 tons and an output of 160 kW.

The machine is optimized for double-head drilling rigs, hydraulic breakers or rotary drives. The kinematics have been fundamentally renewed and rigidity and fatigue strength have been increased. It is primarily designed for shallowly inclined anchor bores but for the first time also permits pile bores next to the undercarriages. As standard, the type 202 carriage is provided with a 7.3 m scaffold length and gear feed from the same company. The machine can be completely remote controlled via radio.
